With the recent Anniversary of Andy Hampsten’s ride up the Gavia in the 1987 Giro, a small band of brave riders set out on a ride of their own.  The weather was reminiscent of the stories I’ve read.  With a cold rain falling sideways it took a great motivational speech by Andy himself to get us on our bikes.  I could still hear his parting words in my ear as we rode off into the cold rain…”Don’t go.”
