IT’S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT CROSSING THE LINE FIRST
A couple weeks ago I heard about this unfortunate accident. I was glad to hear that one of the teams we sponsor went out and participated in this ride.  Commuter, Mountain Biker, BMXer, Roadie…it doesn’t really matter what title we attach to ourselves. We’re all cyclists and we’re all in the same family.

All,
From time to time we receive the opportunity to be apart of something that has a profound impact on the community. Last Sunday’s bicycle awareness and rally for Ed Farrar ride in Wenatchee, WA, was one of those events.
On October 22nd Dr. Ed Farrar was severely injured (and has been in ICU recovering) since he was hit by a car during his commute. Last Sunday (November 9th) Wenatchee Valley Velo and other organizations hosted an awareness ride with several goals; to support awareness of cyclist in the community, highlight the recent incident with Ed Farrar and to support Ed and the Farrar family.Â
The ride was scheduled to be lead by Tyler Farrar (Garmin) and was hoping to draw 75 – 100 people. The police escorted ride ultimately drew over 1000 supporters, which generated much more visibility than anticipated.
First Rate Mortgage Cycling Team (NWV) was very proud to participate in, and be apart of, the event as a show of support.Â
Our thoughts go to the entire Farrar Family and be careful out there.
