WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Often at the Big Events only the fastest of riders are rewarded with the sweetest of prizes.  For example at the Single Speed Cyclocross WC last year two Pro riders walked away with the top honors of the day.  And were each rewarded with custom built Cyclocross frames that they can’t ride due to sponsorship responsibilities.

This year Raleigh America donated one of the Limited Edition Rainier Single Speed Cyclocross frames to the event.  The only stipulation being, the frame would NOT go to one of the overall winners of the event.  Rather we wanted to reward some of the sillyness going on at this bally-hoo of racing.  We left it up to the promotors to figure out how to “single” out the winner.  In the end they decided upon a Feat of Strength competition that pitted your physical prowess against that of other competitors.

 Feats of Strength

After numerous sit-ups and push-ups only 4 remained standing.  And as the light began to fade their fate was put in the hands of the crowd.  Each of them walked away with a bike (a “custom painted” Rainier kids bike) but only one walked away with the real thing.

She seems excited

Many thanks to the promoters of the event who worked so hard to put this event on.  And to PDXCross for these amazing pictures I “borrowed”.
