Man, I want this bike so bad it hurts. But I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: I challenge anyone to find one anywhere near the Los Angeles area. I beg the folks at Raleigh USA to ride your SoCal dealers’ asses hard to get some stuff in the shop. Please. Pretty please.

The new Raleighs all look great. And it is cool you guys are reaching out to the web (just adding facebook now? twitter is the current new thing, and probably location based loopt/brightkite will be next years thing…) Anyway, on to a criticism, and this is one that is pretty applicable to all bike manufacturers, but is a chance to stand out a bit:

I sorta wish you guys would, on the spec pages, do a detailed analysis of geometries and comparisons between models.

For example, why do I have to pour over the pics to determine whether there are fender and rack mounts on the new Clubman or the RX? Or what the rear spacing of the One Way is – can I fit an internal hub in there without respacing? What are the rake/trail measurements if I want to add a front load for randonneuring for each of them. What are the fork clearances for fenders and big tires? Sure, I can figure all this out at the bike shop or by pouring over spec sheets, but shouldn’t you guys be trying to make it easy on us poor consumers?

Anyway, keep producing those great steel bikes…
