THIS WAY…

More and more, we will be posting stories from folks riding Raleighs in the real world.  Stories from our GrassRoots Ambassadors, our Racers, Employees, Group/Charity Rides and from people who had an amazing ride and want to share.

These are all real stories from real people doing real rides.

My name is Adrian Ortiz and I just purchased a Raleigh One Way. I have been commuting to work on a road bike for about 5 years now. But the Fixed Gear bike has caught my attention. So being a guy who likes to have more toys than time, I have made the switch.

I chose the Raleigh One Way because of its old school look; it has a Brooks’ seat, matching handle bar tape and just a cool look about it. Not to mention the stylish chrome bike pump and fenders.

I’m not much of a gear head, but I am a sucker for style. I also like that it has a free and fixed hub, which I am assuming I will consider once I forget that the bike doesn’t coast.

I am looking forward to good rides and a new way of commuting.

More to come soon as I am using the bike to train for a Portland Or. to San Diego Ca ride in May.

Adrian Ortiz  is self described as 36 years old, bald, bearded and bellied. I’m the Sales and Marketing Manager for San Diego CityBeat and enjoy wearing flip flops, riding my bike and drinking a good amber ale, ok more than one.
