RECORD REVIEW
2010 Raleigh Record Ace as reviewed by the staff at Bicycling Magazine.Â
A couple of side notes…I’ve been able to find the Record Ace dating back to 1936…anyone have proof of one before then? Second…for 2011 the Record Ace has received an upgrade to Shimano 105 brakes.
Plus…Le Bike Club got a hold of one and decided to personalize their Record Ace…check out their words and beautiful pics…
The latest edition of Bicycling Magazine is on newstands now…

I have the 2010, have thought about upgrading the brakes to the Ultegra 6700′s, but the Tektro’s are not bad after a good pad replacement, and I did lighten it up some Mavic Kyserium wheels.
This is one great ride I will say, I love this bike, and it does handle very nice on the Mtn descents, I can hang with the carbon crowd for sure

Complain about the steel frame? What does this frame weigh and what does a carbone fiber weigh? Is that really the significant factor?

Just wondering if you have any sort of online press kit. I could really use a photo of a Raleigh XXIX for something I’m writing!

When will the 2011 Record Ace be shipped to stores/LBS’s?

Hi
I wonder if you can offer any information on a Raleigh Record racer i have, It is different to other racer’s i have had.
It is similar to those used in pro road racing ( ie : the milk race, tour de france?) it has a “U” shaped bar in the centre of the handlebars and the gear changer’s are the brake lever’s which go sideways to change up with a smaller lever fitted to change down. I can provide more info if required with photo’s. regards Terry
