Road Bike Review Features Raleigh's 2015 RXC Pro Disc

The Road Bike Review crew visited Raleigh’s booth at Sea Otter to see the new 2015 RXC Pro Disc.

While more information will be available shortly about Raleigh’s 2015 RXC Pro Disc, the RXC Pro Disc is Raleigh’s top-end cyclocross bike and is a dream bike for any cyclocross rider.

Editor’s Note: “Reshaped chainstays that avail 7mm more heel clearance to counteract the wider axle spacing; a reshaped BB bridge that provides more tire (and mud) clearance; thinner top tube and seat stays claimed to improve ride quality; and a lower BB height, which should improve handling but will reduce pedal clearance.”

Outside Online Features Raleigh's RXC Pro

The Outside Online crew recently visited the Raleigh Bicycles booth at Sea Otter and were impressed by Raleigh’s 2015 cyclocross bike line, in particular, Raleigh’s RXC Pro.

Redesigned for the 2015 season, Raleigh’s RXC Pro has 50 percent more vertical compliance than the 2014 model. There is no doubt that the RXC Pro is a cyclocross rider’s dream bike.

Editor’s Note: “The RXC Pro’s redesigned head tube, down tube, seat tube, and chain stays make the bike powerful and stiff, and it has 50 percent more vertical compliance than its predecessor. The bike has thru axles to stiffen up the front end for precise tracking in tight corners.”

BikeRumor.com Gives Full Overview of Raleigh's 2015 Cylocross Bikes

BikeRumor.com dedicated an entire post to Raleigh's 2015 cyclocross line after viewing all of the bikes at the recent Sea Otter event.

While more information will be available about Raleigh’s 2015 cyclocross bikes in the near future, BikeRumor.com went into great detail about Raleigh’s RXC Pro, RXC Pro Disc, RXS, RXW Comp, and RX 1.0 and 2.0.

To read the BikeRumor.com feature about Raleigh’s new/upgraded 2015 cyclocross bikes, click here.

Editor’s Notes:

“The new bikes are better than ever and perfectly equipped for mud and cowbells.”

“As their first full bike, the new RXS looks dialed.”

“Raleigh is responding by offering a new higher level womens’ specific build with the new RXW Comp. Using the same frame as the RXW, the comp receives and improved monocoque full carbon fork and an upgraded spec. Thanks to the American Classic Racing wheels, SRAM Force 22 group, and high end TRP cantis, the Comp is 2 pounds less than the RXW at 19 pounds, and retails for about $2,000.”

Editor’s Note via BikeMag.com: “Raleigh has been in the bike industry for more than a century, and while the brand may have let its mountain bike line fade over the past few years, with the Skarn, clearly Raleigh plans on making a stand in the dirt once again.”

2015 CX Bikes at Sea Otter

Raleigh USA recently attended the annual Sea Otter event in Monterey and the 2015 cyclocross bikes were the talk of the crowd.

During the days following the event, Raleigh received favorite write-ups from media in attendance.

Peloton:

Things we want to ride Sea Otter 2014: "We fell in love with this bike last cross season and in the process learned why it helped Raleigh carve out a spot at the head of the cross field. Redesigning such a beloved bike can be a dangerous proposition, but it appears Raleigh has done it very successfully."

Dirt Rag/Bicycle Times:

"After years of offering a singlespeed cyclocross frameset, Raleigh now offers a complete bike with a pretty killer build."

"Also new is this disc brake carbon CX bike; the RXC Pro. The wheels use thru-axles front and rear, and the Shimano Ultegra Di2 drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes are smoothly integrated with the frame."

CX Magazine:

"Raleigh launched the RXC carbon cyclocross frameset and bikes three years ago, with the Raleigh-Clement team racing the frame in cantilever and disc brake configurations to countless victories on two continents. After revamping its aluminum RX cyclocross bikes (including the Editors' Choice Award-winning 2014 RX 2.0 cyclocross bike), the cyclocross-crazy company has followed up with similar changes to the carbon models."

BRAIN:

"Single-speed cyclocross bikes are nothing new to Raleigh...whose Furley has been a favorite among commuter and budget-minded 'cross weekend warriors in recent year. Now comes the 2015 RXS... designed specifically for enthusiast racers who prefer single-speed simplicity on the 'cross course."

The feature discussed about how Raleigh USA donated one of their Sojourn bikes to the Adventure Cycling Touring & Leadship Scholarship.

The Sojourn is what Raleigh defines as a road commuter/touring bike. As Raleigh notes, it is a timeless touring bike that is balanced with “modern Shimano components and disc brakes for the dependability required when civilization is fading away in your mirror.”
