    Every Little Bit…(Part II)

Earlier I had posted about some new Washington transplants and their need for transportation.  While turning the pages of a recent Seattle Metropolitan, we came across this article… It was a nice read, and a nice follow up to see how things had turned out. read more

    Looking Good

Interbike is over but the Raleigh sightings are still popping up all over.  Momentum Magazine had a Urban Fashion show that featured good looking models and great looking accessories.  While I won’t say that the Superbe Roadster stole the show…wait…yes I will.  Meanwhile…back at the Raleigh Booth another bike was stealing the show.  While not a production bike the Raleigh Rainier snapped more necks and was being blinded by photographer flashes all day long.  While this bike was originally going to be used by [...] read more

    Doper Free

Well, you know…. The latest version of Urban Velo is out.  A great little ‘zine dedicated to cycling culture everywhere and people who love to ride.  No drama, no egos, not a lot of spandex (in fact there’s an article on the World Naked Bike Ride in it, complete with pictures).  If that isn’t enough of an incentive for you to go out and buy one, they’ve made it super easy for us slackers and made it availabe for FREE.  Just [...] read more

    What Happens at $5?

This one has been sitting in my Inbox for a little while.  And I think it nicely sums up what is going on today.  I’ve noticed more and more people riding their bikes for everything.  Whether they’re commuting, going to the store, or grabbing a cup of coffee.  The never ending gas price increases are being felt by everyone.  Recently Presidential Candidate Barack Obama met with Bikes Belong members in Chicago.  In the private 20 minute meeting Obama told members… “…if he were [...] read more

    Taken Too Soon…

Sojourn temporary residence, as that of a traveler in a foreign land to stay for a time in a place; live temporarily The intention of the Raleigh Sojourn is to do exactly this.  To ‘inspire travel’, and encourage ‘temporary residence’ on a journey.   And we equiped the Sojourn for the long road ahead.  With some classic styling, disc brakes, a tubular rear rack, and Brooks accessories this bike is ready to roam. What we did not intend for the Sojourn we sent Dirt Rag to do was [...] read more

    SuperCourse Sightings

Our Supercourse has been making the rounds lately.  With it’s ACE Dircect Connect carbon frame and a price point that some people spend in gas a month…it’s easy to see why. An “up-grade worthy frame” has been seen in the pages of Road Magazine as reported earlier on this Blog.  The Supercourse frame is exactly the same as the Prestige Neil rode on the MS ride.  So upgrading his stock Supercourse, with a parts kit that would make the peleton in the Giro Pink (?) with envy,  made perfect [...] read more

    Landing on your feet…

Each year Raleigh sends out a number of bicycles to magazines for their staff to test and evaluate. Every so often we receive a call from a staff writer or technical editor to check on a component specification or the price. Sometimes they give us a little preview of how the test is going, but when Justin from Dirt Rag magazine called the other day it was to let us know that there had been a little accident. There are [...] read more

    In This Issue Of Road

We sent Neil@ROAD a Supercourse last year and he decided to make it a “project” bike. In this issue of ROAD “Raleigh Revisited Part-II” is a short write-up of how Neil upgrades his Supercourse – which wears the same carbon frame as our TEAM, Prestige, and Competition road bikes – only it comes in at a wallet friendly price point of $1525.Back in Sept. we invited Neil out to participate in our local MS150 ride – we put [...] read more
