A Sojourn in Tacoma : Bicycle Review

I’ve been riding my 2009 Raleigh Sojourn for a couple of weeks now.  If you want the short version, read this paragraph and then go look at some pictures: This is a great bike to do almost everything. It’s a purpose-built tourer, with comfortable, all-day geometry and braze-ons galore. It’s fast over long distances, is geared low enough to climb anything, and can carry a whole lot. Not a lightweight and not a small bike, the Sojourn feels out of [...] read more

    Raleigh Steel Sighting

This is pretty exciting.  In an age of carbon this and carbon that, we’ve gone back to our roots and constructed a stellar line of steel bicycles.  When we released the Rush Hour a few short years ago, we had no idea that it would be as well received as it has been.  Since then we’ve added the Sojourn and One-Way, which have even attracted the attention of Pro Tour rider Ivan Basso.  Which is why it’s so exciting that for 2009 we’ll [...] read more

What we did not intend for the Sojourn we sent Dirt Rag to do was [...] read more

    Landing on your feet…

Each year Raleigh sends out a number of bicycles to magazines for their staff to test and evaluate. Every so often we receive a call from a staff writer or technical editor to check on a component specification or the price. Sometimes they give us a little preview of how the test is going, but when Justin from Dirt Rag magazine called the other day it was to let us know that there had been a little accident. There are [...] read more

    A Sojourn Tid-bit

The NEW Adventure Cyclist came today and as we were flipping through we saw this great little paragraph on the SOJOURN by John Shubert, the technical editor, in his Interbike 2007 recap article.”The Raleigh [Sojourn] was getting constant attention in the booth — always a good sign — and it distinguished itself with both accessories and cosmetic innovation. It comes with fenders, a rear rack, and disc brakes. And 700x35C tires fit under those fenders. Words do not do justice [...] read more
