Rutgers Cyclocross
The Raleigh Sponsored crew at Rutgers had another great cross season in the NorthEast…. “For the fifth straight year, Rutgers has won the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference Cyclocross Championship. With the support of co-sponsor Raleigh Bicycles and presenting sponsor Kim’s Bike Shop, Rutgers fielded an impressive team of ten riders at the NBX Grand Prix in Warwick, RI (part of the Verge NECCS series) to cap off a season that saw Rutgers riders on the podium every weekend. Why Steel?
Recently we’ve really started to expand our line of Steel bikes while other companies are heavy handed into Carbon everything. Every now and then, some folks ask why we’re still making steel bikes. Why are we making a lugged 853 International? Why did we make an 853 XXIX Pro instead of a carbon? Why are our high end commuter bikes steel instead of aluminum? The answer isn’t as simple as saying…Heritage…there is something more there. And seeing this clip from an upcoming [...] read more

It didn’t take long. And in the end it was a Portland local who opened the lucky box. We’re psyched it went to someone who really loves cross, as he’s already raced it a few times and got it muddy. We caught up to him at SSCXWC the other weekend… Golden Ticket Winner from Saleigh on Vimeo. There are just a couple of the SSCXWC framesets still available. Odds are…you won’t get the white frame…however, you’ll still be getting a limited edition [...] read more

I hear a lot of questions about Belt Drives. How strong are they? How long will they last? What do I do if one brakes while I’m riding? All very good questions. To start putting some minds at ease about the strength of the Belt Drive systems…I was psyched to find this video on Bike Hugger. The other questions…time will tell. But I’m becoming more and more convinced all the time. read more

Long Bike Back
I recieve calls and emails almost daily from people who are attempting to ride across the country. Some are for charity, others for personal reasons, some are just looking for free bikes. Last year Pearson contacted me and told me his story of being hit by a car, left on the side of the road seriously injured, his road to recovery and his idea about riding across the US to promote bicycle safety and awareness. Peason has since completed his trip, but his journey [...] read more
