Overall Quality

Great Bike, highly recommended

Review by A.S.
Overall Quality

Recebtly purchased it for my 9yr old. Overall - great bike. Highly recommended. Solid 9, or 9.5, on a 10-point scale.

Some pros:
- Every component is a replica, or a dialed-in version, of an adult "standard", like the handlebar (31.8), pedals, seat, stem, grips, RD hanger, etc. Which is great because in case you want to tinker with it at some point, or just replace a worn out piece, there's no shortage of parts and components to choose from.
- Build quality is amazing. Sturdy, but lightweight, especially compared to some of other prominent brands' 24 inch bikes.
- Overall design is great. Incl paint job.
- Shifting is smooth. I was gonna replace the default twist to trigger shifters, but the Revo (at least for now) is super easy to shift, even for a kid.
- Breaks work great (a little tuning of calipers may be required, as always), and levers are perfect size / tension for little hands.

Couple minor cons:
- Flat 60mm stem . Which is more of a matter of preference. but even many mid-range adult bikes come with this default setup. I ended up replacing.
- Tires are a little too aggressive for my taste. They would be great if my kid strictly did hard-core off-road, but the truth is, at that age many kids probably have one bike, which they use both at a park and on a trail, mostly not as rough of trails as their parents. So more of a cross-country (less aggressive but still a little bite) type tires would be a better option. I ended up replacing them, but the ones they come with are perfctly fine, just not the most efficient for riding paved roads.
- Lowest gear ratio: now, this is not really specific to this bike. Vast majority of kids 1x mountain bikes these days come with either 1:1 or higher ratios. My CX adult bike has almost half that. Meaning, everything else being equal, in the lowest gear I can climb almost twice as easily as my 9 year old. A 28T or so in the front would've been a better option, in my view. However, this is in line with virtually every other brands kids'
1x bike. Also, the bike is quite manageable on moderate to slightly heavy climbs.
