Simple. Steel. Style. The Harlan is for the minimalist who wants something simple yet stylish for riding in the city

The classic steel diamond frame is durable and helps absorbs the bumps. The sweep handlebars and upright riding position make for a seriously comfortable ride. The Sturmey Archer 3 speed drivetrain allows for a few options if you'd like to speed things up or encounter slight hills. Mechanical disc brakes give you great stopping power in all kinds of conditions.

Good bike

I rode old Raleigh three speed in Oxford, England and in Cambridge, Mass, then many years later the 21st century Roadsters in Cambridge, MA. I didn't really appreciate the geometry and comfort of the old 3 speeds until I rode a few old 70's and 80's models in Philadelphia. The new Harlan is nearly as comfortable as those old bikes. I also owned an old early 70's Raleigh 10 speed, that one, like most Raleighs was heavy and big. For $265.00 that is a great price for an internal 3 speed with disc brakes! What a deal! Go for it!

Overall Quality

I reviewed and studied many bikes both online and in various bike shops; I was after a sort of classic three-speed that would be faster around town than a low-level Mtn. bike and more comfortable than a road bike, both of which I already have too. My only disappointments with the bike are as a short person of about 5'7" I find the frame a little big; also, the handlebars are a bit too wide; I wish it came with a kickstand and maybe lightweight black fenders similar to those on the new Tourist. The Raleigh tech people online and the Raleigh dealer were both very helpful; I received free shipping to my house and paid no sales tax and the bike was on sale for $349.00; it is worth it! The quality is high; the gears and brakes work well; the dealer assembled it for me well. It is a heavy bike. The geometry is comfortable and so is the seat. It is a smooth quick bike, superior too Linus and similar bikes. If you liked the old Ralieigh Roadsters, this is a cool update.
