Lily 16

Wave bye-bye to training wheels and ride like a big girl on the Raleigh Lily 16. Inspired by mountain bike design, this 16 inch girls bike is equipped with wide tires and durable aluminum wheels to keep her rolling smoothly over bumpy pavement. The aluminum frame has a low standover height for easy on and off the bike. She’ll easily master braking with the front and rear V-brakes, which provide a smoother, more controlled ride. The single speed drivetrain keeps her focused on pedaling and having fun. The Raleigh Jr. Mountain saddle and Soft PVC grips have grown-up style but are designed to fit the proportions of growing kids. Watch her grow into an enthusiastic rider on the Lily 16.

Overall Quality

I did a lot of research when it came time to graduate my kids from their balance bikes to the a pedal bike. The key with a 16" bike is 3 fold, lightweight, handbrakes and freewheel crank. This bike fits the bill perfectly and cost way less than the other 2 or 3 bikes that fit those requirements. I have triplets who are 4 years old. They have picked up pedaling on a 12" specialized last year but needed something bigger. We bought two lily 16 and a rowdy 16. Bikes came in great packaging and good shape. Easily put together. Wheels were true and brakes tuned well off the bat. Quality is top notch. The bike is super light weight. Colors, fit and finish are excellent for a $200 bike.

The small issues I found. The handlebars are super wide...too wide. I used a jigsaw to cut them down from 540mm to 480mm. The description states age range of 3-6 year olds but that is not accurate. My kids are 4 almost 5 and range from 40" to 43". My 40" can't touch the ground with the seat at the lowest position. I had to cut a small portion of the seat stem to drop it down another 3/4" on hers where she can now just tippy toe. Best fit is for a 42" tall kid and up.

All in all, this is the best bike you can get for the money. We are completely satisfied and my kids are beyond exited about their bikes.
