- Willard 3
Get deep into the gravel or shake it off and log serious mileage on the road with the Willard 3. Made with geometry that inspires confidence in deep, loose gravel or dirt, this ultra-versatile bike allows you to go where most bikes can’t, but also offers the flexibility to take out on epic road rides in complete comfort.
Made to take on all kinds of conditions, the Willard 3 features an Alloy Gravel frame, carbon fork with tapered alloy steerer tube, mechanical disc brakes for great stopping power in inclement weather, and thru axles on front and rear for more responsive riding. Praxis Works Alba cranks paired with SRAM Apex 1 shifters provide the simplicity of a 1×11-speed drivetrain along with an ample gear range to get up and down the hills. The wider Clement X’PLOR 700×40c tires are made for true gravel riding, and the bonus rack and fender mounts allow you to load up and go.

Just wowReview by Carmelo
I own a Diamondback Haanjo, which I love and thought nothing would ever pull me away from it, but...I was wrong. This Willard 3 is just a thing of beauty. The components you get, for the price, is pretty amazing. I'm still getting used to riding drop bars and I installed a 45 degree stem and Suntour suspension seat-post, for even more riding comfort. This bike is pretty hard to ignore, so I suggest you add one to the cart and enjoy it, like I did. The SRAM shifting is super intuitive, smooth and 11 gears are plenty, for even the steepest of climbs. If your looking at other popular brands and comparing components and price, you can't beat this. Trust me, I've looked and this is a steal. I think I hear my Willard 3 calling me. Gotta go ride. Thanks Raleigh(Posted on 7/20/2018)
Great bike. Great value.Review by PatrickOverall Quality
The Willard 3 has everything I was looking for. 1x drivetrain, relaxed ergos, clearance for fat tires, thru axles and an alloy frame for something close to $1000. There were some other options, but I kept coming back to Raleigh because the brand history resonates with me.
The ride is very smooth and solid. I’m especially happy with the cornering and descending stability while the generous cassette makes the most daunting climbs seem reasonable. I’ve had the bike on gravel and road and it handles it all with confidence.
I have a larger chainring coming soon as the 40 cog is quite low and I’ve swapped the stock knobbies for some smoother 38c skin walls. This is my comfortable, any distance, any surface, anything I want it to be, awesome ultra-versatile go-to bike. Completely happy with my decision. If you’ll excuse me, I think I’ll go ride it now.(Posted on 6/10/2018)
very good for the priceReview by jeffOverall Quality
Very solid bike for the price, this was my first drop bar bike and coming from a diamondback haanjo metro this was a big step up. bike shifts very smooth and ride feel is great, even over bumps and gnarls. I have yet to take this on a gravel ride but my local bike shop informed me that the tires that it comes with are a great tire for gravel and should perform well. my previous bike was a 1x9 and I found that gear range to be lacking, 1x11 is perfect and while the sram shifting is a bit odd i will eventually get used to it and doesnt make the ride un-enjoyable. saddle is comfortable. if i had to complain about 1 thing, i would say the brakes stopping power feels a bit underwhelming although it could be me not applying enough pressure. be sure to get some helicopter tape or fancy frame stickers so that cable rub doesnt ruin the awesome paint job.(Posted on 5/2/2018)
Really cool bike!Review by Andrew FettyOverall Quality
The amount of tech on this bike for the price is amazing. Tubeless ready wheels and tires, disc brake and 1X11. Such a cool bike. Love mine. Get one!(Posted on 4/28/2018)
I liked it so much I ordered TWO!Review by NickOverall Quality
I was in the market for an all-road adventure bike when I bought the Willard 3. I actually had the DB Haanjo Comp in my cart forever, then Raleigh released their Willard 3. It was a no-brainer for me. The 1X SRAM drivetrain and mechanical disc brakes were a perfect combination on paper. The HED wheelset, although a heavier OEM version of some of HED's better offerings, are tubeless and a huge plus. I'm 6'2" and I wasn't sure I was going to like the geometry though as I studied the size guide. Boy, was I ever wrong. This is probably the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden. The geometry feels slightly more upright than most modern endurance bikes but not as much as a commuter/city bike which allows you to still get halfway aero when pushing into a headwind or on a descent. That color though!! I AM IN LOVE! Every time I look at my new Willard 3 I instantly smile. The color just pops and the blue accents are perfectly matched. The component choices are great. Even the Praxis crankset and BB are quality. I swapped out the pedals for a flat/clipless combo pedal for getting that extra edge on long rides. I have installed a rear rack on this bike for commuting to work and for longer touring rides. The way they tucked the caliper mounts inside the rear triangle allows you to use a standard rear rack and not have to worry about buying a disc brake specific one. Oh yeah, I ordered TWO of these because I liked it so much and gave one as a gift to my riding buddy (He loves it too). Don't think about this one too long or it'll be gone. Just buy it already! You'll thank me later(Posted on 4/19/2018)
